“Michael Tobias Design” (MTD)—Leveraging craftsmanship backed by expertise in acoustic instruments,

the company has consistently stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the industry’s most renowned manufacturers since its founding in 1994, establishing the term “high-end bass” in the industry.

The asymmetrical neck shape, formed through unparalleled woodworking and entirely hand-carved without the use of any machinery,

brings vivid inspiration to each individual instrument and offers the ultimate advantages as a musical tool.

A used model featuring oak wood produced in 2025 has arrived in stock.

The wood configuration features a figured red oak top, box elder back, maple neck, and roasted bird’s-eye maple. True to the MTD brand, it utilizes woods not commonly seen in basses.

Red oak, also known as Nara, is a wood used in whiskey barrels and other applications.

Box elder, considered a type of soft maple, is used for the body back.

It exhibits a vivid reddish hue, which is a characteristic red mottling unique to this species.

While MTD guitars are crafted by combining various woods in each model, they incorporate the Bartolini preamp and pickups—the cornerstone of their sound—allowing you to enjoy the top-tier sound quality characteristic of MTD.

As this is a model manufactured in recent years, it is a used guitar in relatively good condition.

There is no noticeable wear on the frets, the truss rod has plenty of adjustment range left, and the controls are in perfect working order.
