For sale is a 1952 Martin D-28 I purchased from Carter's Vintage in Nashville. It is in nice condition for its age, is set up well and very easy to play. The guitar is lively and responsive overall, with nice volume, projection and balance. It has a nice patina and some vibey play wear from 70+ years - particularly on the top around the pickguard and along the back of the neck (see pics).
The guitar is crack-free and has all its original components. Per Carter's, the only work this guitar has had is a neck re-set and a refret, at some point prior to my ownership. Also, at some point a strap button was added to the neck heel area. It comes in a newer high-end Martin case.
Technical Specs:
- Neck Depth: 0.87"-0.99"
- Nut Width: 1.68"
- Neck: Soft V profile, medium thickness neck
- Woods: Top is spruce, back and sides are Brazilian rosewood, neck is mahogany, fingerboard is ebony, bridge is ebony
