1985 G&L L-1000 Super Clean Museum Piece Bass, All Original with OHSC

Super clean 1985 L-1000 located in Los Angeles.

All original with OHSC. Mahogany body with above average grain figuring. Black wrinkle hardware. Serial B015685. Weighs approximately 9.2 lb.

This is an exceptionally well cared for, prime quality example of the last generation of front loading Leo-era L-1000. This version was made for only two years, from mid-1983 to mid-1985.

The bass presents as LN- condition over all. It's not mint, but darned close. It does display a few signs that it is actually over 40 years old.

1. There are two scratches on the back of the body. Not severe, but noticeable.

2. There is some very shallow general wear in the "buckle rash" area. It's so faint that I can't get a good photograph of it.

3. There is a very minor impression in the back of the neck, which doesn't bother my playing at all.

4. There is a mild patina on some of the hardware. The hardware is not rusty or pitted at all. It just has a slight general haze over it in certain areas. This is the only sign of age that is visible from the front of the bass. You can see it on the tuner bushings.

5. Some oxidation and wear on the case.

Otherwise, the bass is so clean that it almost looks brand new. I have owned hundreds of pre-BBE G&Ls over the past approximately 30 years. This is in the top 3 condition-wise, judging on over all cleanliness.
