Vintage Tama Artstar 8x14 Mastercraft Snare Drum – Made in Japan

Beautiful and hard-to-find vintage Tama Artstar 8x14 snare finished in Piano Black, featuring the classic Artstar badge and Tama Mastercraft snare mechanism.

This is an impressive deep-shell snare with tremendous presence. The shell remains very clean and glossy for its age, and the interior and bearing edges present very nicely.

The drum retains its vintage character and shows normal age-related wear throughout the hardware, including some pitting, oxidation, scratches and cosmetic wear on the hoops, tension rods and Mastercraft mechanism.

The Mastercraft snare mechanism is present and functional. The snare wires show age and have one missing strand. Heads are as pictured.

Also included is an additional vintage/era-correct Tama lug, a great spare to have with a drum of this age.

Overall, this is a very cool and increasingly difficult-to-find example of Tama’s Japanese Artstar era—especially in the uncommon 8x14 depth.
