Electro-Voice N/D408 Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone
A studio and stage workhorse from Electro-Voice, the N/D408 uses EV's proprietary N/DYM neodymium magnet design to deliver 6dB more output than conventional dynamic mics, with an extended frequency response (30Hz–22kHz) that rivals some condensers. The large diaphragm and DynaDamp vibration isolation make this a go-to choice for miking guitar cabs, toms, snare, and horns — many engineers reach for it in the same situations they'd use a Sennheiser MD 421.
The supercardioid pattern offers excellent off-axis rejection, making it a strong choice for live stage use as well as studio tracking. Comes mounted on a desk-style stand (see photos) — note this is not the mic's typical clip mount, so a standard mic clip/stand adapter may be needed depending on how you plan to use it.
