Rare matched pair of vintage 1966 Jensen C12PS 12" guitar speakers, both manufactured during the same week.
Both speakers carry the identical Jensen EIA date code:
220647
- 220 = Jensen
- 6 = 1966
- 47 = 47th week of 1966
Both are also marked C12PS-C8362 and 25 1028, making this a particularly nice same-production-batch pair.
These are the 16-ohm versions of the C12PS. Two 16-ohm speakers can be wired in parallel for an 8-ohm total load, making them an excellent vintage pair for a 2x12 cabinet or amplifier.
Measured DC resistance:
- Speaker #1: 12.5 ohms
- Speaker #2: 11.0 ohms
Both readings are consistent with 16-ohm nominal speakers.
Original Jensen “Special Design” gold labels are still present. Made in Chicago, USA, and intended for electronic musical instrument reproduction.
These speakers are now approximately 60 years old and show normal cosmetic signs of age. Please study the detailed photos carefully for condition.
A very nice opportunity to find two Jensen C12PS speakers from exactly the same production week in 1966, rather than assembling a pair from different years.
Please note: On one of the speakers, one of the two solder tabs on one terminal is broken off, as shown in the photos. The second solder tab on the same terminal is intact and fully usable, so this does not prevent normal connection or operation of the speaker. This is a minor cosmetic/mechanical issue and is reflected in the description.
