Text us to book a visit. Here's a beautiful piece of Fender Japan history - a 1986 Fender TN70-70 Telecaster Thinline, made in Japan during the legendary FujiGen era.The real highlight here is the semi-hollow MAHOGANY body - a particularly cool feature that sets this model apart from the more common ash and alder Telecasters. Finished in gorgeous transparent Natural, the body shows off the beautiful mahogany grain, complemented by the classic F-hole and pearloid pickguard. It's a fantastic combination of vintage looks, lightweight construction, and a lively, resonant feel. This is a Japanese reissue of the original late-'60s/early-'70s Telecaster Thinline design, featuring a one-piece maple-style neck and fingerboard, vintage-style bridge with three steel barrel saddles, and two original Fender single-coil pickups. Delivering that familiar twang, clarity, and bite with the added acoustic character of a semi-hollow body.Condition: Very Good for its age.For an instrument approaching 40 years old, this guitar is remarkably clean. Cosmetically, there are just a couple of minor imperfections on the body and one small nick on the back of the neck (see photos). Overall, it presents beautifully and feels surprisingly clean in hand. What makes this guitar even more special is how it plays. It has that comfortable, naturally broken-in feel of an instrument that's actually been played and enjoyed over the years - not a stiff, lifeless guitar that's been sitting in an auction warehouse. It's lively, responsive, and simply a pleasure to play. The frets are in great condition, with plenty of life remaining and no noticeable divots. They've been polished to a mirror shine for a smooth playing feel. The original pickups are still in place, preserving that authentic vintage Fender Japan character.A genuine vintage Japanese Fender gem, especially for enthusiasts of the early A0 serial number era. Between the mahogany semi-hollow construction, original single-coil configuration, beautiful natural finish, and nearly four decades of history, this is a particularly cool example of an early FujiGen-made Thinline. No case included, but we have brand-new, affordable hardshell cases available separately upon request. The following work has been done: full cleaning, fret polishing and string height setup (2.3 mm at the 12th fret on the low E string), pickup height adjusted for balance and clarity, and a fresh set of D'Addario XL 10/46 strings installed.Body• Construction: Semi-hollow body, bolt-on neck• Wood: Mahogany• Finish: Natural, gloss• Body Shape: Telecaster Thinline, late-’60s reissue style• F-Hole: Traditional single F-hole• Pickguard: White Pearloid• Contours: Traditional Telecaster Thinline body designNeck• Material: Maple• Joint: Bolt-on• Profile: C-style• Fingerboard: Maple• Inlays: Black dot markers• Radius: 7.25" / 184 mm• Frets: 21 vintage-style• Fret Condition: Good, with no significant divots; plenty of life remaining, polished to a mirror shine• Scale Length: 25.5" / 648 mm• Nut Width: 42 mm / 1.65"• Headstock: Vintage-style Telecaster headstock with Fender logo• Neck Finish: GlossHardware• Bridge: Vintage-style Telecaster string-through-body bridge• Saddles: 3 vintage-style barrel saddles, 2 strings per saddle• Tuners: Vintage-style Fender Japan tuners• Hardware Finish: Chrome• Knobs: 2 black Telecaster-style knobs• Control Plate: Integrated into pickguard• Strap Buttons: StandardElectronics• Bridge Pickup: Original Fender Japan Telecaster single-coil• Neck Pickup: Original Fender Japan Telecaster single-coil• Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone• Switching: 3-way selector (Bridge / Bridge + Neck / Neck)• Configuration: SS• Electronics: PassiveAdditional Information• Brand: Fender Japan• Model: TN70-70 Telecaster Thinline• Year: 1985-1986• Country of Manufacture: Japan• Factory: FujiGen (attributed)• Serial Number: A045833• Serial Era: Early MIJ A0-series• Condition: Very Good• Case: Not included; new hardshell cases available separately
