PRS Paul’s Guitar 2013 Artist Maple Faded Blue Jean 408 Pattern Neck
2013 PRS Paul’s Guitar Artist Maple in Faded Blue Jean.
This is a beautiful early-production Paul’s Guitar from 2013, featuring an Artist Grade Flame Maple top, Faded Blue Jean finish, Pattern neck profile, and Honduran Rosewood fingerboard.
The combination of the highly figured maple top and the faded blue finish gives this guitar a particularly distinctive appearance.
The guitar features the original PRS Paul’s Guitar & 408 pickups, an important part of the original Paul’s Guitar design.
The two mini-toggle switches allow the individual pickups to be switched between humbucker and single-coil modes, providing a wide variety of tones while retaining excellent clarity and musicality.
The pickups were developed specifically for the Paul’s Guitar and later influenced the development of PRS’s 408 and other multi-voice pickup systems.
The Pattern neck has a comfortable, rounded profile with a substantial feel compared with PRS’s thinner neck shapes.
At approximately 3.44 kg, this is also a relatively lightweight example.
I purchased this guitar from a professional guitar dealer in Japan and have personally enjoyed playing it.

Electronics
The original Paul’s Guitar & 408 pickups are one of the defining features of this model.
Each pickup can be switched between humbucker and single-coil modes using the individual mini-toggle switches.
This provides a wide tonal range, including powerful humbucker sounds and clear, articulate single-coil tones.
The single-coil modes retain considerably more body than a conventional coil split, making the guitar particularly versatile for both clean and overdriven sounds.
Condition
The finish shows some natural fading/discoloration, particularly consistent with the age of the instrument, as well as minor scratches and signs of use.
The guitar was rated B+ by the Japanese dealer when I purchased it.
There are no known issues with the neck, truss rod, frets, electronics, or playability.
The guitar was professionally serviced by the dealer before sale, including:
- Cleaning
- String replacement
- Truss rod adjustment
- Intonation adjustment
- Action adjustment
- Fret leveling
The frets remain at a healthy playing height.
Please examine all photos carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.
