Gold Tone Paul Beard PBS-M 2007 Solid Mahogany Squareneck Resonator + K&K SB Pickup

2007 Gold Tone Paul Beard Signature Series PBS-M solid mahogany squareneck resonator, professionally set up and in very good overall condition. This is a particularly nice example with a Genuine Beard Setup dated 10-11-07, plus a K&K Sound Pure Resonator SB pickup installed for the spider-bridge design.

The PBS-M is the solid-mahogany version of Gold Tone's Paul Beard Signature Series. It has the warm, woody character associated with mahogany, combined with the projection, sustain, and note separation of a quality spider-bridge resonator.

Genuine Beard Setup

The instrument carries the original "Genuine Beard Setup" label dated 10-11-07. This is a nice piece of provenance for a PBS-M of this era and confirms that it received a Beard setup associated with the instrument.

K&K Pure Resonator SB Pickup

The installed K&K Pure Resonator SB is the spider-bridge version of K&K's Pure Resonator pickup system. It is a passive pickup requiring no battery, making it particularly convenient for playing through a PA, amplifier, or acoustic instrument system.

It gives the instrument considerably more versatility for live performance while retaining its natural resonator character.

Condition

Very good overall condition for a 2007 instrument.

The resonator was involved in a stage drop earlier in its life and sustained damage that a qualified luthier professionally repaired. The repair is clean and quite difficult to notice unless you know where to look. I have included close-up photographs of the repaired areas to fully disclose the condition.

There are also minor cosmetic marks consistent with normal use and age. Please examine all photographs carefully—they are part of the description.

The instrument has been stored in a smoke-free environment.

The squareneck configuration is set up for traditional lap-style playing.
