Vintage GLI PMX9000 Professional DJ Mixer – Very Early Example – Circa 1979
Here’s a genuine piece of DJ history: an original GLI PMX9000, widely recognized as one of the earliest commercially produced DJ mixers to feature a crossfader and an important ancestor of the modern DJ mixer.
Based on the serial number, labeling, and features of this particular unit, I believe this to be a very early production example, likely dating from around 1979.
The PMX9000 came from an old-school presentation/audio rig and has spent many years stored in a road case.
Cosmetically, it shows normal wear consistent with its age and use. Please look closely at the photos for condition, as they are part of the description.
Beyond being useful vintage analog audio gear, the PMX9000 is a genuinely significant piece for a collector of early DJ equipment. GLI's crossfader-equipped mixer design helped establish a control layout that would become fundamental to DJ mixing in the decades that followed.
Age: Circa 1979/very early production, based on features, labeling, and serial number. Exact production date has not been independently documented.
Fully tested.
This is nearly 50-year-old electronic equipment and is being sold according to the condition and functionality described above. I have not performed any restoration or internal service.
A very cool survivor from the formative years of modern DJ equipment—and one you don't see come up for sale every day.
