Emerging from Universal Audio's flagship Starlight Echo Station, the UAFX Orion Tape Echo puts authentic EP-III-style effects right under your foot. This guitar effects pedal not only gives you a glorious cache of magical delay effects, but it also exquisitely captures the original hardware's analog preamp for beautifully fat, boosted tones. You get three tape modes, arming you with a trio of distinctive sonic colors, along with a Wonk control for modulated repeats and wow-and-flutter artifacts. Integrating the Orion Tape Echo with the rest of your guitar rig is a breeze, thanks to selectable true or trails bypass switching, switchable preamp emulation, and analog dry-through. Few things are as ear-grabbing as a '70s-style tape echo, and the Universal Audio UAFX Orion Tape Echo packs the sound of one of the most iconic vintage tape delays ever built into a classy, pedalboard-friendly stompbox.

Three tape modes

With the UAFX Orion Tape Echo, you're not limited to one sound. Thanks to its 3-way Tape switch, you can access a useful array of textures and sonic colors. Mint mode yields the sound of a brand-new unit with pristine, never-before-used analog tape. Worn mode elicits the sound of a machine that's been around the block a time or two but is still in perfect working condition. Finally, Old mode simulates the sound of a battered, road-worn unit chock-full of ear-pleasing character. Want even more analog mojo? Give the Wonk knob a twist for everything from subtly modulated repeats to funky tape-splice textures.

Spot-on preamp emulation

One of the coolest components of a '70s-style tape echo machine is its built-in solid-state preamp. So much so that many guitarists park one of these units in front of their amp for the added boost and punch. For them, the echo is merely icing on the cake! The Universal Audio UAFX Orion Tape Echo offers a faithful emulation of the original hardware's preamp, activated by a dedicated switch, giving you easy access to all the grit and attitude you can handle.

Integrates with any guitar rig

Guitarists love how easy it is to integrate the UAFX Orion Tape Echo into any setup. Its selectable true or trails bypass switching allows you to either completely maintain your original tone when the pedal isn't in use or let your delay trails die off naturally when you bypass the pedal. You also get a preamp on/off switch and an analog dry-through control, enabling the Orion Tape Echo to play nicely in any guitar rig configuration.
