1965 Vox Foundation 1x18" Bass Cabinet
Up for sale, a credible, rare find Original 1965 Vox Foundation Bass Cabinet. In '65 The Vox AC 5- was offered in two configurations: 2x12" for guitar (The Super Twin) and with 1x18" for Bass (The Bass Foundation). This Cabinet came with its matching Jennings Musical Instruments era Vox AC 50 (Which is sold separately (or can be negotiated as a combo, see last photo, is for displaying purposes only).
The cab is all original, the Foundation Bass speaker enclosure was constructed of 3/4" Baltic birch plywood. Its original and highly collectible 50 watt Goodmans Audiom 91 with a ferrite magnet 18" speaker is in impecable shape, sounding excellent as you can expect. The black tolex and grille is pretty well preserved for its age. It also includes its original leather cover in excellent shape.
Bill Wyman from the Rolling Stones often used two Foundation Bass cabs powered by an AC-100 head. Vox promotional photos of the Dave Clark Five, Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Paul Revere and the Raiders featured Vox Foundation amps or cabs.
