JPTR FX Jive Reel Saturator in good used condition and fully functional.
The Jive is a characterful preamp/overdrive designed around the sound of an old reel-to-reel tape machine being pushed into saturation. It can go from subtle warmth and compression through gritty lo-fi overdrive and into much heavier, blown-out saturation. JPTR FX based the concept on an Akai GX-210D reel-to-reel machine.
Simple Volume and Gain controls make it easy to dial in, while the three clipping-diode switches can be combined in different configurations to change the response, compression and amount of dirt. It works especially well for shoegaze, noise rock, garage, post-punk and lo-fi sounds—or as a dirty front-end boost into other drives and fuzzes.
Can be powered from 9–18V DC, with higher voltage providing additional headroom.
Shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with use and the distressed JPTR aesthetic; please see photos for exact condition.
