The EBS ValveDrive Tube Overdrive is a great choice for players who want the feel and character of a real tube amp without having to haul around a tube head. Built around a real vacuum tube circuit, the ValveDrive delivers the warmth, natural compression, and harmonic richness that make tube overdrive so appealing. It can add just a touch of hair and warmth to a clean bass sound, or be pushed into thicker, more vintage-style overdrive.

One of the nice things about the ValveDrive is how naturally it responds to your playing. Dig in and the tube circuit starts to break up; back off and it cleans up without feeling overly compressed or artificial. It also works well as an always-on tone enhancer or preamp, adding some tube character even when you're not looking for obvious distortion.

For a bassist who likes the sound and feel of tube amplification but wants something that fits easily on a pedalboard, the ValveDrive is a very practical option. It's equally at home in a live rig or recording setup and brings some of that organic tube character to virtually any bass amp.
