The Fender Custom Shop 2008 Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass Relic is a meticulous, heavily aged replica of Jaco's famous "Bass of Doom" 1962 fretless Jazz Bass.
Key Specifications & Features
- Body: Select alder with a distressed 3-color sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
- Neck: Specially shaped maple neck with a sanded-smooth finish.
- Fingerboard: Fretless rosewood fingerboard featuring an approximately 1.5mm-thick epoxy coating, designed to handle round-wound strings and deliver Jaco’s signature aggressive attack.
- Pickups: Dual Custom '60s single-coil Jazz Bass pickups.
- Hardware: Relic'd hardware, including unique knurled chrome Precision Bass control knobs (replacing standard Jazz Bass knobs) and screw holes left behind from where Jaco removed his pickguard and thumb rest/mute.
