Amek M2500 36 channel mixing console

This console was originally owned by Genesis, it was installed in their Fisher Lane farm studio from around 79/80. Abacab was recorded on this desk.

From the mid 80’s it was bought by Dada studios, Clapham where a lot of incredible records were made with engineer, producer and studio owner George Holt.

I bought the desk from Dada in 2007 it became the heart of my studio, Dropout in Camberwell where we made a lot of cool recordings over the following 11 years.

It was regularly maintained by Tim Owen (legendary technician, he’d worked on the desk for years, pre dropout as well as engineer for TL Audio) and it proved very reliable during that time.
I had to pack up Dropout in 2018 and it’s since been in my lounge under a blanket Keeping dry, dust free and warm!

This is an awesome piece of gear and it sounds incredible; the filter/EQ section is something else. Look it up if you haven’t already!

However…It will need some work put into it as any item of this age would. This desk worked beautifully for years with regular maintenance but has been sat here in my lounge mostly powered down for 8 years, it can’t be expected to be powered up and work perfectly.

Included are metres of multicore still connected to the patch bay with patch panels, edac connections, bantam patch leads etc.

A full set of original schematics, extension cards, loads of spare ic chips, spare channel strip and other related items.

The 2000 series power unit is all good, serviced by Tim Owen just before the studio ended.
