This 1976 Ibanez Professional 2671 "Randy Scruggs" is one of the most lavishly appointed Ibanez single-cuts of its era, and this example is a beauty. A carved ash body, mother-of-pearl Vintage Vine inlays and two original Super 70 humbuckers come together in a guitar that's in excellent condition and sounds every bit as good as it looks.

Built by FujiGen in Japan, the Model 2671 carried the name of country picker Randy Scruggs and ranked among the brand's most elaborate offerings of the period. It's a carved single-cutaway with German carve edges, cream binding and abalone purfling, topped by a maple neck and an ebony fingerboard running that unmistakable Vintage Vine inlay all the way up to the scroll headstock. Produced only from 1975 to 1978, it comes from the golden age of Japanese guitar building and shows exactly why these instruments are so sought after today.

Plugged in, the 2671 delivers that rich, punchy voice the Super 70s are famous for: warm and vocal in the neck position, tight and cutting at the bridge, with the out-of-phase switch adding a thin, nasal snarl that's made for funk and lead work.

This one looks extremely clean. It's in excellent condition, with only light playwear to show for nearly fifty years. The original Super 70 pickups are in place, alongside the Deluxe Fancy Tailpiece and Ibanez Smooth Tuners. Only the bridge has been replaced with a newer example. Nevertheless, the original bridge is included, and the guitar travels safely in its hardshell case together with a TFOA Passport. Also included is the black pickguard, however, the pickguard holes in the body have been filled.

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
