The Catalinbread STS-88 combines a flanger circuit with a reverb section that can be dialed from subtle ambience to full soundscape territory. The flanger side draws from classic units like the Boss HF-2 and Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress, with a Rate control spanning 0.077Hz to 6Hz and a Depth knob that adjusts LFO amplitude. The Mix knob sets the wet/dry balance, while the Reverb knob controls tail length—fully counterclockwise and the pedal functions as a straight flanger. Inside the enclosure is an adjustable gain trimmer and a buffer switch for selecting true or buffered bypass. The pedal runs on 9-18V DC center-negative power and draws a minimum of 100mA.
