Up for sale, a 1964 Gibson F-25 Folksinger in excellent, 100% original condition, complete with a hardshell case. Offering the same slope shoulder body design, 14 1/4" lower bout width, and X-braced construction as the LG-3, the Folksinger was designed to bridge the gap between the ergonomics of a classical guitar neck and the tonal response of a steel string instrument.

Ideal for fingerpicking, the Folksinger boasts 12 frets clear of the body with a 24 3/4" scale length and full 2" wide nut. The tonewoods include a spruce top, Honduran mahogany back and sides, a one-piece Honduran mahogany neck, and Brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge with drop-in saddle, yielding a very powerful sound that belies the body size. The guitar has a bold, powerful voice, due in large part to the 12 fret body joint and X-braced construction. The bass register is rich and defined, with sparkling, punchy trebles and a very balanced string-to-string response. This F-25 Folksinger weighs 4lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

  • Wood: Honduran mahogany
  • Shape: Slender D, measuring .810” 1st fret, .980” 9th fret

  • Scale Length: 24 ¾”
  • Nut: 2”, bone
  • Tuners: Kluson Deluxe single line
  • Serialization: Six-digit stamp dates to 1964

Body Specs:

The instrument is crack-free, and the gloss Natural nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray. The finish shows some requisite lacquer checking, with a small area of pick wear on the treble-side of the soundhole, and some additional minor dings and scuffs consistent with use. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

A modern black tolex hardshell case is included.
