The BOSS OC-5 is a guitar/bass octave pedal. It takes the note you play and adds synthesized notes one or two octaves below it, creating a thicker, lower sound.
Key features:
- -1 OCT: Adds one octave below your original note.
- -2 OCT: Adds two octaves below.
- +1 OCT: Adds one octave above (in Poly mode).
- Poly mode: Lets you play chords and multiple notes more naturally.
- Vintage mode: Emulates the classic BOSS OC-2 octave sound.
- Range knob: On bass, lets you limit the octave effect to certain frequencies.
- Works with guitar and bass.
It's especially popular for funk, rock, metal, indie, and bass playing, where you want a huge, synth-like or sub-bass effect without actually changing instruments.
