The Ibanez GB10EM-AA brings George Benson’s unmistakable jazz guitar concept into a more accessible format, while keeping the elegant look and smooth, articulate character that made the GB models so recognizable in the first place.
With its compact hollowbody shape, the GB10EM feels comfortable immediately and has that refined, focused response that works beautifully for jazz, soul, blues and clean chord work. The pair of floating-style humbuckers keeps the top free to resonate naturally, giving the guitar a warm, rounded voice with plenty of clarity and definition. Roll the tone back and it delivers that classic mellow jazz sound, while opening it up gives you more attack and presence without becoming harsh.
The Antique Amber finish suits the guitar perfectly, highlighting the traditional archtop styling and giving it a classy, understated appearance. Gold hardware, elegant appointments and the distinctive George Benson design details give it a much more expensive feel than you might expect at this price point.
For players who love the sound and style of a traditional jazz box but want something compact, comfortable and easy to live with, the GB10EM-AA is a very appealing option. It has plenty of old-school character, but remains versatile enough to handle far more than straight-ahead jazz.
