The Wren and Cuff Ace Octave Fuzz is a fuzz pedal that faithfully reproduces the famous gAce Tone Fuzz Master FM-2 Professional.h
Ace Tone was a brand developed by Ace Electronics, a manufacturer founded by Ikutaro Hashigo, who later became the founder of Roland. Three models were produced in the Fuzz Master series?the FM-1 through the FM-3?but the FM-2 is particularly famous and is considered the flagship model of the Fuzz Master series.
The original FM-2 was manufactured from around 1968 to 1971 and is one of the variants of the famous Shin-Ei Superfuzz.
The Ace Octave Fuzz produces a rich, bold, and clear octave-up sound, especially when you roll off the tone and play at the 12th fret or higher.
The biggest difference between the Ace Octave Fuzz and globally iconic vintage octave-up fuzz pedals?such as the Tycobrahe Octavia and the Univox Superfuzz?is its tone.
Like the original model, the Ace Octave Fuzz features a Tone toggle switch, which allows you to achieve a sound with emphasized midrange or a fat, thick, and powerful low-end tone.
Like other Wren and Cuff grecreations,h rather than simply building vintage pedals based on schematics alone, we disassembled and analyzed authentic vintage units to faithfully reproduce the gcurrent stateh of these vintage pedals after years of use.
By using a modern enclosure, theyfve not only improved usability but also achieved a lower noise level than the original.
