Vintage Fender Squier II HSS loaded pickguard assembly, made for the Made in India Squier II Stratocaster produced from approximately 1988–1991.

This is an especially useful restoration part because the Indian-made Squier II HSS guitars used an irregular pickguard shape, unusual screw pattern, top-mounted output jack, tighter pickup dimensions, and other measurements that differ from standard Fender/Squier Stratocaster parts.

If you have one of these Indian Squier II guitars missing its electronics or loaded pickguard, finding an original-style assembly can be considerably more difficult than simply buying a modern HSS Strat loaded pickguard.

Why This Pickguard Is Hard to Replace

The Made-in-India Squier II HSS was not built around today's standardized Stratocaster replacement dimensions. A typical modern Fender/Squier or aftermarket HSS loaded pickguard generally does not simply drop onto one of these guitars.

The pickguard outline is different, mounting screw locations can differ, the pickup openings are slightly different, and the original switch and control openings are smaller than many modern components. These guitars also use a top-mounted output jack, rather than the conventional separate Stratocaster jack plate.

That makes an original Indian Squier II loaded pickguard particularly desirable for someone restoring one of these unusual guitars without redrilling and extensively modifying the instrument for modern parts.
