One of the most interesting color schemes, the accidental Antigua burst finish! This example dates accurately to 1980, during the first issue of these production models. The iconic look is matched with its hardtail bridge, and bright and edgy 70's grey bobbin pickups.

This example comes to us in good shape, with some tan lines from past stickers. Otherwise, this example cosmetically shows typical checking throughout, and some minor nicks and dings. Chrome hardtail tailpiece, this strung through the body Strat has a lot of definition, glass-y highend and a lot of "chomp" when digging into chords - notable amongst Strats in any guitarsenal. Grey bobbin pickups are stamped, with the neck and middle appearing to date to '78, the bridge to early '80. Replaced volume pot, the tone pots date to '76 (Fender would have *many* pots produced in 1976, something that would be seen into the early 80's), as well as early '78.

A very nice slightly hefty C maple neck with operational micro tilt adjuster. The neck has a fairly clean profile, the depth of the profile measuring .89" at the first position, tapering up to about .96" at the twelfth. The fingerboard is clean, the frets showing some wear, but fully healthy without much issue. The edge of the fingerboard showing some wear through the original finish, it plays nice and speedy. The action is low measuring a comfortable 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret, the neck straight with an operational bullet truss rod. Original F stamped tuners function as they should.
