The Meris Hedra is a digital 3-voice rhythmic pitch shifter and delay processor housed in a compact stompbox format. It combines high-resolution DSP algorithms with a premium analog signal path designed for guitar, synth, and vocal applications.
Architecture & Processing Core
- DSP & Conversion: Powered by a 32-bit floating-point DSP core paired with 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion.
- Analog Signal Path: Features premium low-noise analog circuitry featuring an Analog Devices JFET input section for high input impedance and dynamic response.
- Dry Path: Utilizes a digitally controlled analog mix architecture to blend the dry and wet signals without latency or phase degradation of the dry instrument path.
- Headroom: Switchable input/output headroom levels to seamlessly accommodate instrument (guitar/bass) or line-level/synthesizer sources.
Core Effects Engine
- 3-Voice Pitch Shifting: Generates three independent pitch-shifted harmony voices alongside the dry signal. Intervals are adjustable up to two octaves up or down.
- Harmonic Scales & Key Selection: Features a global Key control and selectable scale structures, including Major, Minor, Melodic Minor, Harmonic Minor, Double Harmonic, Eastern Pentatonic, and Minor Pentatonic. It can also be set to chromatic shifting.
- Micro Tune: A global detuning control that subtly or drastically shifts all three voices to create chorus-like textures, tape-warble, or thick studio-style doubling.
- Pitch Correction & Glide:
- Adjustable pitch-correction algorithms (No Correction, Loose Correction, Strict Correction) to lock melodies into key.
- Glide control that introduces portamento, allowing voices to slide between intervals at variable speeds (or hard-step instantly when smoothing is disabled).
- Adjustable pitch-correction algorithms (No Correction, Loose Correction, Strict Correction) to lock melodies into key.
Delay Configurations & RoutingThe pedal features an integrated tap-tempo delay engine with four distinct architectural routing modes:
- Series Delay + Pitch Feedback: One long series delay line (520 ms max) where repeats are continuously recycled through the pitch shifters.
- Series Delay: One long series delay line 520 ms where pitch-shifted voices are mixed into the repeats post-processing.
- Dual Delay: Memory splits into two short stereo delay lines (260 ms max per side) with independent inputs/outputs.
- Dual + Series (Cross-Feedback): The dual stereo delay structure with added cross-feedback between the left and right channels.
- Time Divisions: Each of the three voices can be assigned independent rhythmic subdivisions relative to the master tap tempo.
- Modifiers: Includes a switchable Half Speed mode for the delay lines and an Auto Swell function linked to pick-attack dynamics.
I/O and Control Interface
- Audio Interfacing: Stereo inputs and stereo outputs via 1/4-inch TRS/TS jacks (Supports mono-in/stereo-out, stereo-in/stereo-out, or dual mono routing).
- Multi-function EXP / MIDI Jack: A 1/4-inch TRS jack that accommodates:
- Expression pedals for real-time morphing of multiple parameters simultaneously.
- External Tap Switches.
- Meris 4-Preset Switch.
- Full MIDI I/O (via a compatible MIDI-to-TRS interface box) supporting CCs, Program Changes, MIDI Beat Clock synchronization, and polyphonic MIDI keyboard control for direct pitch playing.
- Expression pedals for real-time morphing of multiple parameters simultaneously.
- Bypass Switching: Selectable True Bypass (via hardware relay) or Analog Buffered Bypass with spillover/trails capability.
Physical & Electrical Specifications
- Enclosure: Durable brushed aluminum chassis with a custom transparent coating.
- Power Requirements: 9V DC, center-negative, drawing approximately 150mA
- Dimensions: 4.25' W x 4.5' L x 2.0'' H / 10.8 cm x 11.4 cm x 5.1 cm
