• Important: The screen needs to be replaced or serviced! The photos somehow make the screen more readable than it is to the naked eye. There are replacement screens available; also, there is a video online on how to possibly fix the screen without replacing it. Note that the front panel of the Z8 is designed to be detachable, so screen access is far easier than it otherwise would be.
∞ Overall, very clean condition ! (Take a look at the "sold" ones here on Reverb, in their battled scarred glory, lol !)
∞∞ The AKAI Z8 is basically an MPC 4000 without the sequencer. You can sample at 96kHz !
• All Akai Z8's have a detachable front panel. You can leave the front panel attached or attach the panel via included cord for remote operation.
Important note about the ADAT Card by Hello Gadgets:
1) It is an 8-channel ADAT output, not an ADAT input.
2) The eight analog outputs work at the same time as the ADAT outputs-- you can have 8-channels of analog running out at the same time as the eight digital ADAT audio streams are being output. Flexible!
3) The 8-channels of digital ADAT audio can run at either 44.1kHz or 48kHz.
4) When using the ADAT output, the Z8 must be the MASTER clock.
• Again, included is the correct cable to connect the Z8 front panel to the Z8 body in case you want to rack the Z8 and control it from your desk.
••• This LOADED/MAXXED OUT AKAI Z8 works absolutely great, but keep in mind that the screen needs to be replaced. Please do not purchase unless you have plans to replace the screen.
