I have owned this instrument from new, and have hardly used it - it has spent it's life as a "case queen", and as such is in perfect condition. The Epiphone Elite range were manufactured in Japan (Terada Factory) to full American specification, which means the machine heads are Grovers and the pick-ups are Gibson-made (50ST at the bridge and 50SR at the neck) all the appointments - the thin neck with the bound fingerboard, the fretwork, the body finish - are all outstanding. The original concept was to encourage Epiphone 335 buyers to trade up. In the event this did not work - the opposite happened. Potential buyers of Gibson 335 were "trading down" to the superior Japanese made Elite range. Understandably, Gibson stopped the Elite production to maintain the sales of US made 335s. This instrument in OHSC, which is in great condition, but has some surface scratched.
This is a beautiful and rare 335 in fantastic condition.
