Schecter J-4 Exotic Bass in Faded Vintage Sunburst

The Schecter J-4 Exotic delivers a comfortable, responsive playing experience built on premium tonewoods and thoughtful ergonomics. This four-string bass combines a thin 'C' neck profile with a 34" scale and roasted maple construction, creating an instrument that feels balanced and quick under the hands. The zebrawood top and swamp ash body in Faded Vintage Sunburst finish establish a distinctive aesthetic that stands out on stage or in the studio.

Playability & Build

A roasted maple neck with carbon fiber reinforcement rods provides stability and reduced neck relief over time, while the 16" fretboard radius and 21 narrow X-jumbo frets support both smooth legato lines and articulate picking dynamics. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut (1.496" width) ensures precise string spacing and reliable tuning stability, paired with Schecter light-weight tuners and a high-mass bridge for rock-solid intonation and sustain.

Tone & Electronics

Twin EMG Metal Works pickups (LJ bridge, SJ neck) deliver aggressive, articulate output with extended high-mid clarity and tight low-end punch—ideal for slap, modern jazz fusion, and aggressive rock styles. The 2-band EMG active EQ with master volume and blend control gives you surgical command over your tone, powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment for transparent, noise-free amplification.
