Personal Thoughts:
This is a very cool early Eric Clapton Strat and one of the more desirable versions thanks to the original Lace Sensor setup. The Pewter finish is understated but instantly associated with the late-’80s / early-’90s Clapton model, and paired with the maple neck it has a very clean, purposeful look.

The Version 1 specification is what really gives these guitars their identity. The Lace Sensor Gold pickups have a smoother, lower-noise response than a traditional Strat single-coil, while the active mid-boost circuit can take the guitar from glassy clean sounds into a much thicker, more compressed lead voice without changing instruments. It is one of the earliest successful examples of Fender building a signature Strat around genuinely functional electronics rather than cosmetic changes alone.

The Soft V neck profile is another defining feature and gives the guitar a very distinctive feel in the hand. A great piece of late-’80s Fender history and a particularly appealing example for players who want the original Clapton-era specification rather than the later Noiseless-pickup versions.

Condition Report:
Excellent condition. Presents very cleanly overall for a 1989 instrument, with only light signs of careful use consistent with its age. No significant damage or excessive wear to mention.
