Selling my QP5. If you're not familiar with this preamp, it borrows architecture from the API family - input/output transformers and discrete opamps. I don't think it is similar sonically, though. Where my CAPI VP28 was mid-heavy and lean-ish, the QP5 is clearer and fuller. From descriptions I've read, I would say it is more like the Jensen 990/John Hardy than API, but let your ears be the judge!
The ratio switch allows you add a little more sparkle if needed, and provides a second tonal option. Great results with acoustic guitar, especially nylon, where the cardioid cap of my Vanguard V1s liked the more neutral position (out), and the wide cardioid liked the added presence when activated.
