Purchased this beautiful piano a year ago from someone on Reverb who specializes in restoring vintage Rhodes pianos; it hasn't left my home studio since then and has received regular maintenance in the meantime. This was my absolute dream instrument, and I couldn't have been happier to have owned it while I did. Unfortunately, I am downsizing my collection as I gear towards a move, and it pains me to sell this beauty, but I'm hoping someone else will get just as much joy out of this as I have. As a bonus for the buyer, I will include all 50+ HD art-grade photos to enjoy/have prints made of. Restoration Details:

What we have here is a 1979 transition-era Rhodes 73 Stage Piano. I say transition era because when it first came to me, it had some Mark II features, but had all the guts of a Mark I. The exterior case and tolex weren't in great shape, and the original harp cover was cracked, but the inside was in absolutely amazing condition and clearly had not had a lot of playing; if it did, it was kept in really great shape. So I endeavored to give it the most detailed and complete restoration I have done to date. I run a small, independent Rhodes repair/restoration shop, so all work is done by someone who has put in hundreds of hours working on and repairing Rhodes pianos. Look at the even hammers, level keys, even damper felts- the absolute works, no stone unturned. All materials were sourced from the highest-quality vendors; most parts are from the leading Rhodes source, Vintage Vibe.

This era, the 1978-79, is my personal favorite era of Rhodes pianos. They nailed the action without further modification, and refined the hammers and dampers to be more consistent and responsive. They also still had wood keys before going plastic and kept the same great look of Mark I's.

I like this piano so much that I kept it for myself only to be played/recorded exclusively in-studio and has never been gigged or even left a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment. It is truly pristine.

All that being said, here is the full, extensive list of everything I have done to this amazing instrument:

- Brand new premium birch plywood case/base - painted black and made to exact OEM specs

- Custom tolex in Silver Levant - has a beautiful finish to it, a bit metallic and reflective

- Custom painted Harp cover in Blue Sparkle. I got this cover from another Rhodes I had years ago. I did not paint it; a professional auto body shop did the work, and it is gorgeous

- Brand new Vintage Vibe Mirror Name rail, logo, and dial plate. This looks AMAZING in person, a huge upgrade to match the tolex and harp cover; you can see the keys reflecting in it in the pics.

- All brand new exterior hardware: Handles, Corners, Glides, Leg Flanges, Cross Bar Plate

- Brand new Vintage Vibe Legs

- New sustain rod, OEM great condition sustain pedal - I prefer the heavier old metal pedals to the new light plastic models.

- Brand new custom-wired passive electronics and custom knobs - smooth and noise-free with upgraded spec RCA cable (pictured above)

- Brand New white key tops for perfect white, smooth, even keys - done by a professional piano restoration company.

- Brand new Vintage Vibe cheek blocks

- All keys leveled, action dip set

- All brand new Vintage Vibe tone bar screws and grommets

- All brand new Vintage Vibe damper felts

- Replaced some misc. tines that weren't as clear/tonally 100% with same-era replacement

- All tone bars cleaned, tines polished

The only original parts that were not changed were the hammer tips; they had been done at some point by the previous owner not too long ago and still have plenty of life in them. They are in great shape with little to no grooves or wear. The piano has all the original pickups, except 1 pickup has been replaced with a "white tape" coil pickup of the same era by the previous owner; it works flawlessly and sounds great, so I didn't change it.
