Paul Reed Smith S2 Vela Antique White Satin
Serial Number: S2068349
Weight: 6.1 lbs.

The PRS S2 Vela in Antique White Satin is Paul Reed Smith's offset — a shape that stands apart from anything else in the PRS catalog — finished in thin satin nitro that lets the mahogany body breathe. At 6.1 lbs. it's genuinely light, the kind of guitar that ends up in your hands every time you walk past it, and the satin finish has a fast, broken-in feel from the first minute. The headstock carries the gold embossed signature logo in matching satin white.

The mahogany neck is carved to PRS's Pattern Regular profile (27/32" at the 1/2 fret, 59/64" at the 12 1/2 fret) with a satin finish and set-neck construction for sustain and a smooth heel transition. A rosewood fretboard carries PRS's signature bird inlays over a 10" radius, with 22 frets, a 25" scale length, and a 1 21/32" PRS nut. The 25" scale splits the difference between Fender and Gibson tension, which is a big part of why PRS necks feel the way they do. PRS low mass locking tuners handle tuning stability, and the plate-style bridge is the interesting piece — brass saddles on an aluminum plate, compensated for intonation across two saddles, top-loading for quick restringing. It's the same bridge family found on Paul's Guitar and select Private Stock models, drawn from his early designs.

The pickguard-loaded electronics are where the Vela earns its reputation. A PRS-designed DS-01 in the bridge delivers bright, punky snap with real attitude, while the Type-D single-coil in the neck brings noteworthy bite and clarity. A push/pull on the tone control splits the DS-01 to single-coil for a balanced voice that cuts through a mix, with a 3-way toggle and a single volume keeping the layout uncluttered. Whether you're an indie or alt player who wants an offset that isn't the obvious choice, a session guitarist chasing wide tonal range from a light instrument, or a player who's wanted into PRS at a real-world price, the Vela covers it. This PRS S2 Vela (Serial #S2068349) includes a PRS premium gig bag. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized PRS dealer.
