Yamaha D1500 Digital Delay
Vintage Yamaha D1500 rackmount digital delay from the mid-1980s. This is one of Yamaha's early MIDI-era rack delays, with up to 1023 ms of delay time, programmable memory, modulation/LFO controls, feedback controls, MIDI in/thru, footswitch jacks, and both 1/4-inch and XLR I/O on the rear panel.
Current market check:
- Public Reverb/eBay comps show working D1500 units generally clustering around the mid-$200s to high-$300s depending on condition and test status.
- A current/near-current Reverb listing was at $250 local-pickup-only, while a fully tested vintage rack listing on eBay was at $390.
- This unit is priced as a powered-on, cosmetically used vintage rack delay, not as a freshly serviced studio-mint unit.
Test status:
- Powers on.
- Front display lights clearly.
- Program/time display shown active in the photos.
- Front-panel LEDs and controls are visibly active.
What was NOT tested:
- Full audio-path test was not completed for this listing draft.
- MIDI functions were not tested.
- Footswitch/CV control jacks were not tested.
- No internal service, calibration, or capacitor work has been performed by me.
Cosmetic condition:
- Used vintage rack condition with visible rack rash, edge wear, surface scuffs, and scratches.
- Top panel shows fingerprinting/smudging and scattered scratches.
- Front rack ears show normal mounting wear.
- Faceplate lettering is readable.
- Knobs and front-panel buttons appear present.
- Rear panel shows 1/4-inch jacks, XLR connections, MIDI in/thru, level switches, and attached power cable.
- Photos are of this exact unit. Please review all photos closely for condition.
What's included:
- Yamaha D1500 Digital Delay
- Attached power cable
- No manual, box, footswitch, MIDI cable, or other accessories included.
Shipping:
Ships fully insured and packed with premium materials. This is rack gear, so it will be wrapped, corner-protected, and boxed with enough padding to protect the rack ears and front panel.
A note about vintage/used electronics:
All electronics are tested to the extent described above. Any known issues are listed in the description. Your item will not be sent DOA unless explicitly specified.
Sometimes issues do arise in transit and can be caused by rough handling, old/brittle wiring, or a component failing under the rigors of shipping. Major issues are covered by insurance - that's why every package ships fully insured.
Many issues are minor and fall under normal user maintenance. These are things any buyer of vintage/used electronics should be comfortable handling:
- Pots can be scratchy or develop a flat spot from use. DeoxIT solves most of these.
- Switches occasionally need to be cleaned or adjusted to make better contact.
- Belts, lubricants, and rubber components have a service life - vintage gear may need preventive service.
