This is a 2015 PRS S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow, built in Maryland and finished in gorgeous Violin Amber Sunburst. Figured maple top, mahogany semi-hollow body, 22-fret rosewood board with PRS bird inlays, dual humbuckers, PRS tremolo and locking tuners.
It delivers exactly what makes a great semi-hollow so addictive: the warmth and resonance you want without giving up the sustain, clarity and feel of a great solid-body.
And then there’s the story.
I purchased this guitar through a U.S. Marshals auction.
That’s the complete story I can document, so I’m not going to invent a notorious former owner or manufacture some ridiculous tale about how it ended up there. I actually think the mystery makes it better.
The guitar shows honest evidence of being played, including some attractive patina/oxidation on the pickup covers. Look closely at the photos. This isn’t being represented as a museum piece.
It’s a player’s PRS with a story.
And if you’re currently trying to decide whether you need another guitar, that’s probably the wrong question.
You already know you don’t.
The question is whether you’ll find this particular one again after somebody else buys it.
