Mercury Recording Equipment GPQ15s (CALREC-Neve style)

Here is a wonderful GPQ15s from Mercury Audio Equipment (David Marquette Audio Labs) in very good condition. Both units have very few scratches and dings (see pictures).

The Mercury GPQ15s is our version of the CALREC PQ15s. The BBC spec, British console input module. Similar to a Neve 1084. But this is more musical and has expanded midrange. 

I needed a Neve’ish preamp with a different flavour for a project I was recording and I got my hands on this unit. When I got the unit, the power supply was missing. I contacted Mercury and they provided me with a new PSU (David Marquette of Mercury Audio is a very nice guy and offers great support for his products!).

The preamp has a very « big » sound as you would expect from Neve or Calrec inspired pres but when you engage the EQ and start tailoring the sound, in combination with the LPF and/or HPF, this is when the magic happens!! Truly amazing! It has this addictive hifi/silky/tape sound that very few units have. The noise floor of the unit is also very impressive!

It also comes with a custom made 5 pin XLR cable (for connecting the PSU to the unit), power cable and the original paperwork.
