Introduced around 2010, the RX-A700 is a substantial 7.1-channel home-theater receiver combining surround processing, digital-to-analog conversion, HDMI switching and seven channels of built-in amplification in a single chassis. Unlike an A/V preamp/processor, this unit can power passive speakers directly.
