The Gibson ES-345 takes the ES-335 and adds +10 to the number which is still -10 to it's bigger brother, the 355. But less fancy because this guitar does not have double binding on the body, it only has single binding, hence coming from the Custom shop as a "Modified" guitar. Maybe it should be called an ES-344. I dunno, I'm not in marketing.

The ES-345 is a sort of neglected middle child in the ES range, it's often overlooked when compared to the 335 or 330. Maybe it's because it feels just a smidge jazzier, a smidge bougie, or because people feel judged by the quality quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce used for the interior bracing.

The 335 uses regular spruce which for all we know comes from Jersey or Canada. The type of spruce that orders prosecco instead of champagne.

Add on to that the Maple center block and Adirondack Spruce braces have been "Thermally Engineered" which is a Gibson way of saying "We roasted it in a fancy expensive oven powered by the trapped ghosts of hundreds of blues players" to pull out moisture and make it weigh less.

Famous players of the 345 include BB King, who played them through a solid state amp (Lab L-5). Unfortunately BB King didn't have Reddit or Youtube so he didn't have anyone to tell him that Solid state amps are inferior to their tubier alternatives.

The 345 is also the guitar that was used by Chuck Berry's cousin, Marvin Berry by back to the future until a time traveling slacker in a puffy vest stole it to use his shredding skills to convince his parents to "do it". Fun fact, the ES-345 shown in that movie was actually not made in 1955, but only introduced in 1958 which means that Marvin Berry was most likely a time traveler as well and actually Chuck Berry's father who traveled to the future, then back to 1955, in order to find the right sound to teach his son Chuck so that he would have a successful music career. I suppose he posed as Chucks cousin to make it less weird. I dunno, I'm not scientist.

This guitar is in near perfect condition, but does have some small marks above the top f-hole. It's difficult to photograph but I've tried to include one. Comes with COA, hard shell case and case candy.
