A 17" paper-thin crash from Dream's Dark Matter Bliss line. Paper thin means it opens instantly with a light touch and gets out of the way just as fast: explosive attack, a raw, gritty decay, and no build-up under a busy pattern. It is the crash for low-volume and jazz settings, or for anyone who wants a dark accent that doesn't linger.
Dark Matter is Dream's re-fired series: each cymbal is micro-lathed by hand, then put back in the fire, which darkens the bronze and roughens the surface. The result is dry, dark, and trashy in the good sense, with a fast decay. Hand-made, so no two are identical.
