Vintage Ludwig school tambourine in very good used condition.
Red painted 7" frame with 5 pairs of jingles.
Original calfskin head is intact with no tears or holes.
Ludwig stamp is still visible on the underside of the head.
Painted frame shows wear consistent with age.
Jingles show pitting.
Have found this listed in Ludwig catalogs as early as the 1930's.
Not bad shape for a tambourine nearly 100 years old.
A very cool piece of Ludwig history.
The hand drum is very similar in appearance, but I don't believe it was made by Ludwig.
The frame of the hand drum is thinner, and the head is not marked. One tack is missing on the hand drum head and a couple are loose. The frame is out of round as shown in the photos.
Please see the photos for the condition.
