Gibson J-45 2005 Historic Collection Limited Run — Closet Classic Condition
Our users rate Reverb
For sale is an exceptional 2005 Gibson J-45 Historic Collection, serial number 01365038. This guitar was inherited from my grandfather and has been a cherished family instrument. I hate to see it go, but I don’t play and it deserves to be played.
History & Storage:
Following my grandfather's passing, this guitar has been safely stored, unplayed in its case for over 10 years. It has been meticulously climate-protected with a Dampit soundhole humidifier, preserving the integrity and stability of the premium tonewoods perfectly. This specific model was part of a limited run of only 670 instruments produced worldwide, highly regarded by Gibson enthusiasts as the direct precursor to the premium "True Vintage" series. Sounds beautiful.
Condition & Details:
- Body & Neck: The body, neck, fretboard, bridge, and binding are clean, structurally sound, and have been exceptionally well cared for overall. No major chips or cracks.
- Cosmetics: Shows normal, honest age and light finish wear along the edges from its early years of use, adding to its authentic, organic character. Because it has sat unplayed for the last decade, the frets show virtually no modern wear.
- Hardware: The vintage-correct, white-button tuners and hardware show normal, honest age and light use from over the years, adding to its authentic character.
- Tone & Playability: Features a premium, solid AA Sitka Spruce top and solid Mahogany back and sides for that classic, warm Gibson "thump," plus comfortable factory-rolled fingerboard edges.
What's Included:
- Original Gibson hard-shell case (as shown in photos).
- Dampit soundhole humidifier/cover.
- Grandfather's Care & Maintenance Kit: Includes a variety of cleaning, waxing, and tuning accessories he used to meticulously care for this guitar over the years.
Please review all photos closely for cosmetic condition, as they are part of the description. A rare chance to own a limited-piece, vintage-spec J-45 with a wonderful family history.Price: $2,699
No original paperwork included as this is an inherited family instrument.
