This is an original Marshall DRIVE MASTER manufactured in England in the 1990s.

The DRIVE MASTER was one of Marshall's British-made drive pedals from the 1990s, alongside the BLUES BREAKER and SHRED MASTER. It is part of the lineage of the highly regarded The Guv'nor, which was introduced in the late 1980s with the concept of bringing the classic drive sound of Marshall amplifiers directly to the pedalboard.

The pedal features GAIN, BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE, and VOLUME controls. Its three-band EQ provides an amp-like configuration, allowing detailed tone shaping to suit different guitars and amplifiers.

The sound delivers the classic Marshall British drive character, with a powerful midrange and pronounced edge. With the GAIN set lower, it produces a thick and substantial crunch tone, while increasing the GAIN takes it into a powerful, full-bodied distortion suitable for hard rock.

Compared with the BLUES BREAKER's lower-gain, natural drive and the SHRED MASTER's more aggressive high-gain character, the DRIVE MASTER sits between the two, offering a particularly versatile and easy-to-use range of British rock tones.

The DRIVE MASTER is also notable for its connection to The Guv'nor. While inheriting its basic design philosophy and tonal character, it developed into part of Marshall's 1990s drive pedal series. Original examples from this early Marshall pedal era remain popular among players and collectors interested in the brand's pedal history.

Although Marshall has released reissue models in recent years, this particular unit is an original 1990s model made in England.

There is a slight amount of scratchy noise when operating the controls, but it is within a range that does not affect normal use.
