Excellent condition 2018 Gibson Hummingbird Vintage, built at Gibson's acoustic Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana — confirmed by the interior label (Style: Hummingbird Vintage, Custom Shop, Bozeman MT).
Purchased new by me in 2018 and has been well cared for since — used exclusively for recording in my home studio, never played out live or gigged.
The Hummingbird Vintage sits above the standard-line Hummingbird, with extra hand-work throughout — including a hand-painted, hand-carved pickguard — and genuine period-correct appointments that recreate the look and feel of an early-1960s original.
Specs:
Thermally aged (torrefied) Sitka spruce top — pre-aged for opened-up, mature tone from day one
Solid mahogany back, sides, and neck
Hand-sprayed VOS nitrocellulose lacquer, thin vintage-style finish (not thick modern poly)
Period-correct Gotoh vintage-style tuners, gold/keystone buttons with natural aged patina
Hand-carved, hand-painted Hummingbird pickguard
Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays
Bone nut and saddle
Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing
Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish
Condition: Excellent — no cracks, no repairs, minimal handling wear, never gigged. A few light barely visible very light strum marks above the pick guard that don't even show up in photos. See photographs.
The HB was recently set up by an excellent Luthier in San Luis Obispo and the action is like butter with absolutely no buzz. Truss rod still has plenty of play. String height at 12th fret is 4/64" See Pics.
