1959 Fender Telecaster - Toploader - One Piece Ash

This featherweight 1959 Telecaster sounds incredible. Unfortunately, my wife found out I bought it and now, one of us has to go. I definitely wouldn’t part with it otherwise.

Refinished in a mellow sunburst, like a cross between a tobacco burst and a tea burst, there’s no obnoxious cherry-orange nonsense here. While a refin certainly decreases the value, the truth is the gorgeous grain of this one-piece ash body deserves some attention.
This is also the very rare top loader model like Jimmy Page’s, only made in 1958-1959.

The original bridge pickup sounds out of this world. Original pots with codes 137916. Stunning original body, exceptional original neck, original Centralab switch, bridge plate, and bridge saddles.

Mods and repairs: Guitar has been refretted, non-original nut, and has non-original 1960's double line Kulson Deluxe tuners. The body was reshaped with a comfort cut, edges rolled over and the left horn modified in shape. Output jack modified as pictured. Body is routed for two humbuckers underneath pickguard. Repro decal. Headstock has the common fender headstock cracking which have been glued and stabilized (see pictures). Everything is stable and plays like a dream.

Overall, an AMAZING guitar at a fraction of the price! Includes modern hardcase.

Note: For what it’s worth, this guitar was supposedly owned by one of Prince's guitarists who toured and recorded with him. Whether that’s true or not, the axe speaks for itself.
