This Martin Custom Shop Willcutt Exclusive D-42 Style pairs a premium Grade 8 Adirondack spruce top with Exceptional Broad Figure koa back and sides, creating a dreadnought that is as visually striking as it is traditionally inspired. Built specifically for Willcutt Guitars, the design takes its cues from Style 42 while incorporating a carefully selected collection of premium Custom Shop appointments.

Under the Adirondack top is forward-shifted, Golden Era scalloped X-bracing, also crafted from Adirondack spruce. Select abalone pearl runs around the top perimeter and follows the fingerboard profile, while a Style 45 rosette with select abalone, Style 45 mosaic back purfling, and antique white binding give the guitar an appropriately elevated presentation. The exceptional broad-figure koa is also carried onto the headplate, where it is paired with a select abalone C.F. Martin block inlay.

The 12/4 genuine mahogany neck features Martin's GE Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance Taper, a 1 3/4" bone nut, and a 25.4" scale. Its black ebony fingerboard receives the long Style 45 Snowflake pattern in select abalone. An ebony GE Modern Belly bridge continues the detailing with a six-point abalone snowflake, compensated bone saddle, and bone pins with Paua accents. Gold Grover Sta-Tite tuners complete the hardware package.

A Toasted Burst is applied across the top, back, sides, neck, and headplate, tying the highly figured koa and Adirondack spruce together with a distinctive Custom Shop aesthetic. The guitar is finished in gloss throughout and includes a 5-ply hardshell case and Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity.
