~TAMA STARPHONIC Copper 14 “x7”~

A pleasant resonance that transcends eras and genres, touching the hearts of everyone who hears it. And a sound that possesses the depth to adapt to all forms of music and situations, unbound by genre. The STARPHONIC series was born as the culmination of a long process of conceptualization and trial and error to realize precisely this kind of sound.

The PCP147 is a snare drum crafted from copper. The 1.2mm-thick copper shell is soft and characterized by rich overtones in the low-mid range and a dark, deep, resonant tone. To further enhance these characteristics, the shell depth was set to 7”, which is 1” deeper than other models in the STARPHONIC series. It also incorporates the “Grooved Hoop” and “Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon” snare wires—hallmarks of the STARPHONIC series—making it a snare drum that is both easy to control and capable of subtle nuances.

~Staff Comments~

Featuring a 7-inch-deep copper shell, this snare drum delivers a powerful, well-defined sound while also offering a soft, dark nuance. While it delivers ample volume, the sound lacks any piercing sharpness and is characterized by a unique resonance that seems to sink downward.

It also features TAMA’s proprietary “Grooved Hoop.” This design maintains the vertical tension similar to a traditional single-flange hoop while significantly reducing the effort required to change heads and snappies, offering excellent practicality and convenience.

Furthermore, it combines the high quality and excellent value for money that come with domestic manufacturing, making it a versatile drum set suitable for a wide range of performance settings.
