This is a stunning vintage 16" Paiste Formula 602 weighing in at a versatile 1220 grams. This is a Solid Stamp pre-serial cymbal dating from early in Paiste's legendary 602 line.

Crafted from Paiste's iconic B20 bronze alloy, this cymbal delivers the ultra-pure, clear, and musical tone that made the 602 series a studio and stage standard. At 1220g, it performs beautifully as a buttery, fast-responding Crash or Crash/Ride with a warm, silvery decay. It could also function well as an exceptionally rich, dynamic Top Hi-Hat paired with a heavier 16" bottom.

This cymbal has that beautiful patina that comes with age. When I acquired it, it was clearly well cared for and never cleaned or polished chemically or abrasively. Since I've owned it, it has only been cleaned with mild dish soap and micro-fiber cloth. It's been kept in my smoke-free temperature and humidity controlled studio storage room in a hard shell cymbal vault when not in use since I purchased it. Nor has it been gigged since I acquired it.

I love this cymbal and am parting with it because I recently semi-retired from music. With my reduced gigging and recording calendar I don't use it enough to justify keeping it. This magnificent cymbal should be played and enjoyed so I am offering it for sale. Currently the most similar Paiste cymbal is the Paiste Formula 602 Medium Crash Cymbal 16". It's a slightly lighter reissue (@1110g-1150g) and sells for $490 at most major music stores.
