In a Universe far, far away and long ago, I purchased a Magnatone M15 on eBay, which arrived badly damaged but still worked. Instead of making a vain attempt to repair the broken plastic top and aluminum subframe, I decided to turn this into amp head and build a separate cabinet to match. I even contacted Magnatone with my hairbrained idea, and they were enthusiastic about it.

I turned the electronics chassis over to a trusted amp tech to get some new tubes installed, validate things, and then he suddenly passed away. His wife tossed most of his things on his bench out, including my amp chassis.

So, this has left me with the original power transformer chassis, which should still work. My intention was to redo the circuit for proper (and safe) grounded operation, so I bought entirely new parts to make this happen. I'm hoping this finds a new home and maybe someday acquire another Magnatone!

*** Date codes can be hard to decipher, but this was advertised as a 1965 amp, however the date code would suggest a 1964 though. Please correct me if I'm wrong, thank you! ***

*** This does NOT include a new transformer, the Mercury Magnetics spec sheet is provided as a reference only. I have every reason to believe the transformer is still good, but cannot safely test it. ***
