Like all Reference kick drums, this shell uses an engineered 8-ply wood recipe (2 inner plies of Premium African Mahogany and 6 outer plies of Maple) paired with a Fully Rounded bearing edge. This exact shell composition ensures maximum head contact and rich sub-bass resonance from the mahogany, while the 14" depth provides immediate rebound and focused attack.
