This is a 1999 Gibson Custom Shop 1963 ES-335 Reissue in Cherry.
Based on the serial number, this is a 1963-spec reissue model manufactured at the Gibson Custom Shop (Nashville plant) in 1999.
Custom Shop instruments from the late 90s are highly acclaimed for their wood selection and meticulous craftsmanship; this period is now referred to as the "Early Historic" or "Good Wood Era," and these guitars are highly sought after, with prices steadily rising in the vintage market.
[Features]
It retains its original factory-installed parts, including pickups, tuners, bridge, and tailpiece. The frets have not been replaced.
Having seen little play, it remains in mint condition—almost like new for a guitar that is approximately 27 years old. It features a beautiful, vibrant cherry red finish. While it lacks typical signs of use such as scratches, tarnishing of metal parts, or weather checking, it possesses a distinguished, vintage-like character and a wonderful vibe.
As a '63 reissue, it features block fingerboard inlays and a "Slim Taper" neck profile—a thinner shape that offers excellent playability.
It delivers rich acoustic resonance, while also providing the characteristic semi-hollow acoustic feel and a solid, driven tone when plugged in.
Neck & Frets: The neck is currently straight, and the truss rod has not been adjusted since purchase. The frets show absolutely no wear, and there are no issues with dead notes or buzzing. Please note that there is some scratchy noise (static) in the volume controls.
