Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a nice 1970's era Electro Voice 658H model dynamic cardioid microphone set at High impedance which comes with a vintage clip, mic cable in which to operate, data sheet and original box. A great package deal all around.

You'll see in pic # 2 the E.V 658H data sheet and all of the mics specs.

Pic # 3 is the actual data sheet you'll get with this mic and it will really come in handy as info on these mics are harder to come by.

This mic has a very midrange tone and bright in nature. it was designed to have less bass than the Low Z 658L model. Very good uni-directional characteristics on this mic as well. It's a quality mic and you'll see that this was actually a collaboration between R.V and a Japanese manufacturer. The Japanese were building excellent mics back in the 1980's and 90's.

This was the newer generation of handheld microphones with a design that had less to do with making an impression and more to with practicality. The mic is lite weight and appx 7 inches long X 2 inches wide at the tip of the grill. The mic comes with the on / off switch that works just as it should.

As you can see in the pictures provided this mic has a beautiful original olive drab finish and is in very nice cosmetic condition having an absolute minimum of wear. The mesh grill looks new with zero deformation, odors or discoloration. The E.V label looks fantastic and completely legible. I'd rate the cosmetic finish a true 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10. These 6 series mics are basically bullet proof.

I didn't have to replace the inner foam pop filter on the mics front grill as it is in such amazing condition. Those pop filters really help with the mics sound characteristics.

The microphone comes with a vintage aftermarket mic clip and it works perfectly. Looks very nice with the mic and has a very firm grip too. The clip will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. It shows just lite very lite wear.

This mic also comes with a standard XLR type cable to operate this mic. The cable is appx 7 feet in length. Soft, pliable and has the male and male Switchcraft 1/4 inch end connector for use with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers. The XLR pins on this mic were cleaned as they were slightly tarnished. This will ensure a perfect signal once the cable is attached.

The data sheet shows lite wear but it's a great accessory to have as well as the original box which also shows just lite wear. Box even has the original $74.00 price tag on it.

This will make an excellent mic for any Hi Z audio equipment you have such as a HAM radio or basic P.A system.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
